Nanaimo and The Vancouver Island Conference Centre hosts the BC Association of Forest Professionals Annual Conference

Nanaimo BC: The Vancouver Island Conference Centre welcomed the BC Association of Forest Professionals Annual Conference February 5-7, 2020.

Close to 600 delegates from across BC and Canada attended the BC Association of Forest Professionals Conference which utilized the Vancouver Island Conference Centre for workshops, keynote speakers, receptions, and banquets. A large exhibitor show took place in the Mt Benson Ballroom A/B and the Newcastle Island Lobby to showcase forestry products, services and knowledge.

The Association of BC Forest Professionals has more than 5,300 members, including Registered Professional Foresters and Registered Forest Technologists, they represent the largest group of forestry professionals in Canada. Their Annual Conference brings members together to share knowledge, learn, network, and host their Annual General Meeting.

The conference encompassed the entire City of Nanaimo, with delegates staying in our hotels and exploring the city in many different ways.  Whitesails Brewery, Arbutus Distillery, and Chateau Wolff Estate Winery were on-site for the opening reception, offering tastings of their products to delegates as a way to showcase Nanaimo’s local scene. The 3-day conference produced a positive economic impact for the City of Nanaimo of more than $500,000.
