Nanaimo and The Vancouver Island Conference Centre hosts the BC Rural Health Conference 2018
Nanaimo BC: The Vancouver Island Conference Centre welcomed the BC Rural Health Conference from May 8-13, 2018.
337 delegates from across BC and Canada attended the BC Rural Health Conference 2018 which utilized the Vancouver Island Conference Centre for workshops, keynote speakers, receptions, and banquets. A large exhibitor show took place in the Newcastle Island Lobby to showcase products, services and knowledge.
The BC Rural Health Conference is an annual event hosted by the Rural Coordination Centre of BC (RCCbc) that brings together rural health care professionals (physicians, nurses, allied health providers) and medical learners from across British Columbia for education and networking.
The conference encompassed the entire City of Nanaimo, with delegates staying in our hotels and exploring the city in many different ways. 92% of delegates were from British Columbia with the rest coming from other provinces. An off-site event, Dockside Social, was hosted on May 12th at the Lighthouse Bistro. The 6-day event produced a positive economic impact for the City of Nanaimo of more than $425,000.
